About Humanities Department

The Interactive Communication Skills (ICS) lab is located in a spacious room with good acoustics and well equipped with the latest technological aids viz., T.V. with large screen, VCD,LCD,OHP etc., that facilitates the students develop their soft skills and presentation skills, build up confidence and enhance their performance at Placement Interviews, Group Discussions and other recruitments.

The faculty members of the department have been handling several topics besides the usual engineering mathematics subjects; like Discrete structures , graph theory , probability and random processes , Numerical Analysis ,Engineering Analysis –( I & II ). The faculty is mainly committed to catering the tools of knowledge required in a most applicable fashion to enable the students to comprehend engineering problems clearly.

The faculty members regularly are engaged in attending & Organizing several conferences, workshops and courses on various engineering subjects also. They are also associated with scientific bodies and are striving for the professional and intellectual development of their fellow faculty members. The faculty has addressed itself to the need to orient the students towards the ultimate goal of relating their knowledge to the reality of life situations.

Different Labs

English Labs:
Globalization has brought in numerous opportunities for the teeming millions, with more focus on the students' overall capability apart from the academic competence. Many students, particularly those from vernacular medium, find that they are not preferred for the jobs due to their inadequacy of communication skills and soft skills, despite possessing sound subject knowledge and technical expertise. Keeping in their pre-employment needs and career requirements, the department of Math’s & Humanities has recently established the state-of-the-art Digital Multimedia English Language Labs replacing the conventional labs. The Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) lab has the capacity of 32 workstations apart from one Instructor workstation. This software based language lab aims to familiarize the learners to the nuances of English speech like sounds, word accent, sentence accent, rhythm and intonation and to neutralize the influence of the regional accent and to bring about a consistent accent and intelligibility in their English.
